I can not tell you how excited I am to announce this new meatless holiday meal. This savoury mushroom Wellington is a vegetarian option that everyone will adore, and it is a personal point of pride for me, who has only adopted a meatless lifestyle in the last few years.

We start with our homemade Duxelles, a French classic created with a medley of mushrooms, onions, herbs, and black pepper, sautéed in butter and reduced with a dash of sherry to paté. We have replaced the traditional beef with braised portobello mushrooms sprinkled with fresh herbs and, of course, more butter. All wrapped with love in our all-butter pastry. You can purchase this new twist on the classic in the frozen section of our stores. You bake it from frozen in your home for the perfect Wellington. We have many great, easy meal options, but today, I want to talk about our Aussie-style beef pie, which has been a long-time favorite among our customers. It's a versatile option that appeals to kids and picky eaters, reminiscent of a comforting, homemade meatloaf. The ground steak and gravy pie is subtly sweetened with ketchup, similar to mom's meatloaf, and pairs wonderfully with our homemade mustard pickle. This makes for a delightful meal, reminiscent of a sweet, sloppy Joe with mustard. Additionally, many seniors appreciate the ease of eating ground steak in this pie compared to larger meat chunks found in other pies. We take pride in the fact that West Jet chose to include our Aussie-style beef pie on the first-class menu when they launched the Dream Liners departing from Calgary. Paired with a salad, it's a convenient and wholesome option for a weekday dinner before the evening activities. Our pies are made from scratch, free from fillers or preservatives, and encased in our all-butter pastry. Our Slow cooked filling and passty and lovingly made by hand in small batches.
